Copper Varahi Devi Statue, Goddess Varahi Devi is a Hindu deity representing the feminine aspect of the all-pervading power of creation, which is inherent in all animate and inanimate beings. She is one of the Matrikas, a group of seven Mother Goddesses which are present in the form of ?Shakti?, or power. Shri Varahi Devi is the female counterpart of Varaha, the boar Avatar of Lord Vishnu.
Varahi Devi is revered by devotees as the granter of boons and destroyer of enemies. She is also a focal point of Tantric worship and people pray to her for leading a long and prosperous life.
Varahi Devi is another form of Goddess Parvati, and she represents Lord Yama’s energy. Varahi is said to have been created out of the boar form of Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu has three shakti energies: Vaishnavi, Varahi, Nrisimhi. Mother Varahi is one of the divine mothers in the Sapta Matrikas -without Durga or Ashta Matrikas, with Durga or Chandika. This list is given as Brahmi, Maheshwari, Kaumari, Vaishnavi, Vaarahi, Mahendri and Chamundi. Matrikas are divine mothers and they are also the aspects of Adi?Parashakti.
